East Broad Street Sidewalk Improvement Project
The East Broad Street Sidewalk Improvement Project will provide a pedestrian
connection from Main Street to the Wedding Garden and the Cleveland Park trail
system. The project includes the construction of approximately 2,300 feet of
curb & gutter, curb lawn, and sidewalk. This project will be constructed by
the City
of Greenville Public Works Department, and construction of the first phase
commenced October 20, 2008.
The first phase of this capital improvement project consists of constructing
approximately 550 feet of curb & gutter and sidewalk along the northern side of
East Broad Street to connect the existing sidewalk on East Broad Street to the
recently constructed Dr. David C. Francis Street. Some temporary lane closures
will be required for the safety of the workers as well as motorists; however,
the closures are expected to be brief. Construction of the first phase is
expected to be complete on or before November 21, 2008, with the latter phases
of the project beginning after the first of the year.
The City of Greenville and the Public Works Department look forward to this
opportunity to provide a quality infrastructure improvement for the citizens of
Greenville. For more information about the project, contact Jason Miller, Senior
Civil Engineer, at (864) 467-4400.
